The Girls Are Back Home
The return trip was a success!

On September 9th, Kathryn and her parents accompanied Meameno and Paulina to the JFK Airport in New York to put them on their flight back to Namibia. Through South African Airways, we had managed to arrange a "Meet & Assist" option for them: an SAA employee helped them along every segment of their journey, essentially the same treatment that unaccompanied minors receive except that the assistant did not sit next to them on the plane. Naturally, Kathryn had given the girls a cell phone to use upon landing in Namibia just in CASE anything went wrong. Fortunately, nothing did; Meameno's uncle met the girls at the Windhoek airport and took them to see their families. Kathryn called the phone she had given them shortly after their scheduled arrival time and got to speak with Meameno directly, after which we all (particularly Mrs. Morrison and Mrs. Tao!) were able to breathe again. All in all, the girls' trip was a great success. They enjoyed their time in the United States and kept journals recording all of their activities, paying particular attention to the most memorable events. Of course, now we miss them... THANK YOU, everyone who helped to make this trip possible. It meant more than words can express, for them and us both. With this chapter behind us, we at Namibian Dreams are looking to the future of the organization. The next update to the website should provide further information on that.
